Doesn’t matter. Everyone knows Canelo is the man at 160.
He would beat Charlo’s ass and Haymon won’t let his guy go to DAZN to take an L. Bad for his business.

Correct. The regular title is just ignored, like the WBA regular title when they have a super champ. Canelo was "upgraded" which means he holds the highest ranking title and means he is the champ NOT Charlo.

Canelo is the WBC Super Champion. The WBA started this racket a long time ago.

A lot of people missed this line about the Franchise status...According to WBC when the Franchise Champion fights

                5. The WBC may award a Diamond Championship belt in those fights in which the Franchise Champion engages. If the Franchise Champion loses, the winner will receive the Diamond belt

So when Canelo fights at 160 they will have him defend the WBC Diamond belt and call it a unification fight for undisputed against Andrade. Just like they did with Jorge Linares who was upgraded and awarded the WBC Diamond belt after he got injured and they made his normal WBC Belt up for grabs in a vacant title fight for bum azzz Dejan Zlaticanin to win. WBC labeled his fight with Crolla who held the WBA belt a unification fight with Linares defending his WBC Diamond belt. WBC basically just did what the WBA did when they already had a WBA Champ then created a new special tag called the SUPER WBA Champ. This bogus Franchise Champ status don't transfer but when he fights he defends this WBC Diamond belt which can be lost and transferred to the winner and they already created the precedent that the WBC Diamond belt can be used in unification's. Already created a precedent that Linares Diamond belt was elevated ahead of the regular WBC belt that Dejan held. Canelo is the true champ not Charlo. Basically Canelo fighting Andrade would be like the WBA Super unifying even though there is a WBA Regular belt holder sitting around somewhere which happens all the time.

... and Rob Brant would still be the WBA world middleweight champion, right?...

Canelo is the franchise champ but when he fights the WBC Diamond Championship belt is on the line and that can definitely be lost. Like others said Canelo is for general purposes the WBC Super champ while Charlo is just the WBC Regular champ lol

For me yes, I really don’t see Charlo as a champ.
