Will Golovkin ever become a Canelo-level star?

What should he do to become one without having to rely on Canelo's name?

I think he still can if he decides to fight Andrade and Charlo back to back. Which most people think he can both beat, but the guy is just stuck on leeching off Canelo's name.

Not really. He’s at the end of his career almost.

Most people know he beat Canelo twice but it doesn’t mean a lot when the dust is settled. people have short memories and Canelo will continue getting gifts when required and being pushed as the star. That’s the boxing business.

No, he will never become Canelo-star level, his career is washed up and almost over, he earned his stripes though no doubt.

impossible, he's at the end of his career and holding out for another canelo payday. Even at his "prime" Golovkin was very difficult to market, he's from Kazakhstan, and most people in the West only knows about it through Borat. On one hand they try to market him as some sort of killer Mexican style KO artist that everyone feared, but then he gives goofy English interviews, playin to the Borat stereotype. He's half Slav and half Korean, but he doesn't even look like a typical mixed dude, he just looks weird lol

Bum hunting came back to haunt him & he should of manned up long ago and fought Saunders after he called him out, Derev instead of relinquishing a belt like a b!tch, Andrade instead of Steve Rolls. He won't become a Canelo level star by fighting bums.

Why t f are people talking about his age?
              It's so damn annoying.
If he's that old, then make him retire.
No one is forcing him to continue fighting.
Look at Pacquaio. He's 41 and he's fighting Thurman.

Glovkin signed a 6 fight contract with DAZN for $60 million.
You want him to fight Canelo six effing times?!
              It's ridiculous.

He's old and it's okay for him to fight Rolls-level fights for $20 mil each?
You don't realize how ridiculous that sounds?
He'll fight and get his charity because he's already old?

Of course not... Canelo has a built in fan base.

No he won't and neither will anybody else. There is only one Canelo and he is by far boxing's biggest star since Mayweather. What you don't seem to understand is GGG already has a deal in place with DAZN and so does Canelo. GGG has a 6 fight 100 million dollar deal so he gets about 16 million no matter who he fights. Canelo has an 11 fight 350 million dollar deal so he gets about 32 million a fight no matter who he fights so a third fight between GGG and Canelo is not about money. GGG has 5 more fights and then he retires so he can never be as big a star as Canelo is now even if he beats him. GGG thought he got robbed twice and wants to beat Canelo to set the record straight. A third Canelo fight does not make him richer than if he never fights him and he already has enough money for many lifetimes. GGG is about the 4th biggest money maker in boxing but Canelo is number one. If Canelo loses a fight he may not be as big a star as he is now.
