Hey I am more than willing to bash the so-called governing bodies of boxing as they are corrupt. But you can say Charlo became the mandatory challenger via that very same corruption. Otherwise how could one explain letting Charlo become the #1 conetnder by fighting Hugo Centeno and a one legged Jorge Sebastian Heilan.

Or we could just blame the sanctioning body and not the fighters? It's not like the fighters are making any rules. Andy Ruiz probably didn't deserve a shot either, but I'm not gonna bash the guy for doing his job and becoming undisputed overnight. Can't blame Mayweather for having a 154 strap for 2 years without having to defend it. The list goes on.

If Charlo isn't the rightful mandatory, then get the guy who should be and make Alvarez fight him. I just want to see 2 guys fight each other the year that everyone actually cared. Playing sides against boxers, trying to claim who ducked who, or who doesn't deserve what won't acheive that. It's coming from the top down. Fighters couldn't pay step aside money or duck mandatories if we had sanctioning bodies who cared more about the sport than a check.
