    Calling all FORMER Canelo fans!

What attracted you to Canelo the boxer?

For myself it was the fact that he was serious about his craft and contiuted to add new wrinkles
    to his game.

The sad thing is he once had pride
In his Mexican heritage... Lara proved that.

I still say being reject by the Mexican warrior class(former A+ fighters) in Mexico made him resentful to the point he no longer cares about legacy.

    Sad stuff.

My opinion about the guy hasn't changed but, it's hard to speak the same way about him because of all the new fanboys on here trying to suck him off constantly. Used to be that everyone was bashing him and laughing at him. It was easy to point out him strengths back then. Now, you can't make a thread about him without some uptight ****** trying to suppress any critical opinion about the guy. They are like mental servants to Canelo this year, and it was GG 2 years ago, Kovalev before that, etc, etc.

Canelo is the same guy. It's just that the wishy washy fanbase has changed.

I never been able to track it down for myself but Canelo recently has been quoted as saying "I will not fight Mexicans." Canelo I believe would not have made such a statement a few years ago. I believe the current political climate in America is a part of the new Canelo.

For us Americans this is at best... the best fighting the best at worst America's best vs Mexico's best.

Unfortunately these Canelo fans think they are fighting for "la raza.

Thurman, tank, porter get/got ridiculed for ducking, for some reason la raza is off limits!

Most of these guys who think Canelo reps them as people were bashing the dude 2 years ago saying, "Mexicans don't respect CowardNelo".
Now, these dudes fly into a rage if you aren't praying to Canelo.

I loved him from the first time I saw him fight so many years ago as a teenager when he KOed Cotto's brother. He was a nice guy and a good fighter and puncher and fearless. I watched him improve with every fight until he became exceptional good. He could KO a guy with one punch from either hand and his body attack became perhaps the best in boxing. He is a great fighter today but he doesn't seem like the nice guy I remember. He seems arrogant as if he is better than everyone else and the king of boxing. I guess he is the king of boxing but I am not nearly the fan of his I once was.
