He said he could make 175 but not a catchweight. Only by cutting an arm he could.

Now he's gonna be a zombie for Canelo?

I really hope it doesn't happen with a Catch-weight. Kovalev is a big light heavyweight with a vulnerable body. A drained Kovalev is not good

He can't go under 175 and still be competitive. If he cuts weight for Canelo, he's just doing it for a paycheck. If Canelo really wants to prove something, don't handicap the guy.

That’s what fighters do for money.

        Canelo made 152.

        Cotto made 145.

        Money talks.

Kovalev weight in at 174 for his last fight. Maybe another 2lbs for a big paycheck won't be that bad?

Money makes people do funny things. Ward was willing to come down and fight Floyd.

Not surprised. How many fighters have said they'd drop down for a Mayweather fight. Dudes will make those kind of sacrifices for the opportunity and life changing money

Those guys lost -- but I get it. Money comes first. Fans of great matchups within a weight division? Not so much.

After his last fight, Kovalev commented that he had worked with a new person or team that had helped him easily make weight without suffering greatly; that previously he had done it himself and due to lack of knowledge or discipline had to put himself through hell in the last weeks or days and that this had been a major problem.
