Canelo is in a good spot right now in his career. Homie can do what he wants.

To answer question. No won’t be criticized

Rare these days fighters fight elite opposition after another

    Daniel Jacobs good win.

If he fights a no name. He’ll come back December and fight a big name or vice versa on September

Kov fight makes a lot of sense. He’s slow compared to canelo. Will be target practice and tree will fall

Let DAZN fighters get more wins and build profile bit more

Kovalev will eat those vicious bodyshots & eventually get stopped.

Not saying that I agree with this but why should Canelo do that his contract is 11 fights for 360 mil, he has 9 fights left on it.

Its up to him who he fights. Honestly I would cruise along get paid at this point, he has made his mark already get paid, minimize the head trauma and retiree when the contract is up.

I don't see any great names in Canelo's future. It's not like he's a welterweight surrounded by superb competition.

His accomplishments are what they are. A close win over Golovkin, and a draw that was heavily disputed. A solid win over Jacobs, who is a pretty good fighter, but who didn't seem terribly interested in grabbing a victory from Canelo that night. A youthful blowout loss to Mayweather, a workmanlike win over an old Cotto. What else? A close victory over Trout.

So yes, he's rich and popular, but his legacy doesn't approach the top level, and there isn't much more he can do about it. The PEDS thing doesn't kill him, but it doesn't help, either.

Agree with you that fighters don’t and shouldn’t be expected to run the gauntlet non-stop But Disagree with a couple things

Canelo isn’t going to fight in December again that was just to make up for the paycheque he lost in May when he popped

How can Dazn fighters build their profile if no one signs up to watch them fight no hopers. How many new subscribers will Andrade / Suljecki generate maybe 12. Golovkin / Rolls didn’t move the needle. Big fights will generate buzz and I don’t even think A Andrade / Golovkin fight would resonate outside of Hardcores.

Canelo should either fight Andrade or Golovkin in Sept . 1 is the biggest fight for him and the other means something historically .

Maybe it’s just me but Smith & Kov are meh

Callum Smith has 1 decent name on his CV a injured past prime almost always coming up short Groves and Kovalev is 35 has 3W in his last 6 been sparked out and tapped out in 2 Of those Ls

MW is relatively stacked and there’s unfinished business for Canelo , F.uck all this division jumping

Too soon for Andrade to fight canelo September. He fights this Saturday

I think canelo done fighting 2 times a year. Canelo/DAZN best interest he fights often. But he will have to fight some no names along the way. Nobody fights elite after elite

GGG-Rolls wasn’t expected to move anything. Just a showcase. Showcase + showcase = something/reminder/build up people want to watch. That’s how it happens sometimes
Of course varies fighters and situations. Jermall Charlo and BUD CANT get fights due to networks

Canelo, Jacobs, Andrade , GGG etc. will bump into each other and along other fighters within weight/network

Fair point. Canelo is in a great position as he is on guaranteed money so he can go fight Rocky Fielding 9 more times and still earn a $36.5m purse per fight if he wants to.

DAZN will be desperate for Canelo to face the likes of GGG to recoup some of that investment. Especially considering one of their other major investments (AJ) is in serious jeopardy.

Are you ******? He's the only fighter building their fan base!!!!

How bout GGG do his part in building the fan base by fighting someone the fans want to see besides Canelo

even the people who'd rather see canelo fight anyone as long as ggg doesn't get the fight, know that canelo vs ggg is the best option for September. Andrade likely wouldn't be ready to go again in sept. unless canelo is gonna fight smith in the uk, he'd just be facing a relative nobody who might kick his ass...doesn't seem like a logical risk/reward. the kovalev fight makes little sense...most people don't even think kovalev is the best guy at 175, so it's not some best vs best legacy fight. the narrative is already there for the ggg trilogy and it's definitely the most lucrative.
