WBSS should do 115lbs tournament next season

The top 8 of this division is clear cut and competitive; Estrada, Sor Rungvisai, Ioka, Nietes, Chocolatito, Yafai, Ancajas and Moloney. Backups could be Barrios, Dumezweni, Palicte, Fransisco Rodriguez, Yaegashi or Buthelezi. It'd be relatively cheap compared to other divisions but the possible money to be made out of matching up all these big names in a tournament could really help curry favour among promoters to try to set this up. I don't know, what's the possibility you think this happens next year? 50/50? 20/80? 100/0? (hopefully).

I agree. It’s not like it will be that expensive either considering the majority of guys at 115 lbs or lower don’t command substantially high purses.

    I’d have my seeds as:

    1. Estrada
    2. Sor Rungvisai
    3. Nietes
    4. Ioka

And then the next four would be:

    Gonzalez
    Ancajas
    Yafai
    Moloney

Easy to get out of this tournament.

          Just say you're injured.

          Ask Tete.

The one issue I think the top names in this division probably skip the tournament. Estrada has no reason to be in it. Sor Rungvisai has no reason to be in it if he’ll eventually get a third Estrada fight. Nietes turned down his rematch with Paliciete and said it was because he was chasing big fights. I think he has specific guys in mind and doesn’t want to do a tournament. And I think Gonzales is probably looking for one last shot, not to go up against young young killers in a tournament.

I like those matchups to begin with actually all new challenges for the fighters involved. Nicely done.

There are strong replacements that could be placed into the tournament.

Perhaps so but I doubt they'd get a chance at earning more money in their lives and that's a temptation like no other, isn't it?
