What does the WBC's Ruling Mean For Canelo Alvarez vs Demetrius Andrade Undisputed??

Idk if I'm interpreting this wrong but it appears now if Canelo fights Andrade next it will not be for #allthebelts due to the WBC's corruption. I thought Canelo wanted to be the first undisputed Mexican in boxing history. It would be nice if Canelo spoke out against all these corrupt things that seem to go in his favor.

This new ruling truly sucks. I understand it's supposed to be some long standing criteria that Canelo has fulfilled but it's bs imo. To me it seems now that this relieves pressure for Canelo to fight Charlo or Andrade next. He would only fight Charlo cause he would be mandatory & he only talked about Andrade cause he had a belt. Before the belts didn’t matter now all of a sudden he said he wants to be undisputed... 🤔 Right when he mentions this the powers that be come with this ****** ruling.

Somebody clarify & tell me I'm misinterpreting things. Did the WBC just potentially ruin Canelo's quest to become the first undisputed Mexican champion this September?? 🤔🤔

I don’t think anybody knows what this Franchise crap means in terms of undisputed right now.

If it took away Canelo’s chance for undisputed I can’t imagine him not trashing the WBC though.

If Canelo doesn’t say anything about it then I doubt it affects anything.

If somehow it does strip Canelo of a unifiable title then PBC must’ve paid a s**t ton of money to the WBC to sever their relationship with Canelo, which is what they’d be doing.

It means Charlos belt doesn’t mean anything.

If someone said, yeah I know there’s two, but who’s the WBC champion at 160? You’re picking the guy who unified with Jacobs and beat GGG, not the guy who hasnt fought anyone at middleweight yet.

Charlo isn’t the champion and no one thinks that.

Canelo doesn't have a real title, he has a get out of mandos for free belt. Winner of Canelo vs Andrade would have 3 real titles and a WBC joke title.

I hope Canelo throws the WBC belt in the trashcan to be honest with you. Give them a big middlefinger. Make them beg for more sanctioning fees. Corrupt mofos

It means Canelo needs to fight Charlo which he likely won't since Charlo is one of PBC's top fighters and I doubt he'll go to DAZN.

Actually, that WBC suckjob belt means he never has to fight Charlo.

There is no undisputed now because Canelo is no longer the WBC champ and the franchise champ can't be contested

A Franchise Champion shall enjoy special status with respect to his or her mandatory obligations, holding multiple titles and competing for titles of other organizations, as the WBC Board of Governors rules on a case-by-case basis.

The Franchise Champion designation is awarded exclusively by the World Boxing Council and considers the following mutual agreements between the WBC, the champion and his promoter

                1. The Franchise Champion designation is exclusively by appointment of the WBC Board of Governors by a majority vote of the board.

                2. This designation is not transferable and is exclusively to the fighter who receives such designation.

                3. The Franchise Champion will be designated as WBC Emeritus Champion once he retires from boxing.

                4. The Franchise Champion will proudly represent the WBC in every single fight as a reigning WBC champion, regardless of any specific conditions or titles being associated with all future fights. WBC rules and regulations will govern under the traditional conditions of boxing in the Franchise champion fights. WBC will approve through the franchise champion promoter every opponent scheduled to fight.

                5. Franchise Champion agrees to participate in a minimum of two social responsibility events every year, organized and in conjunction with the WBC.

                6. The WBC may recognize a WBC champion in the division or divisions where the Franchise champion currently competes.

                7. The WBC may award a Diamond Championship belt in those fights in which the Franchise Champion engages. If the Franchise Champion loses, the winner will receive the Diamond belt and may be considered as mandatory contender of the division.

To be undisputed he does. Same for Andrade, if he beats Canelo, he wins the Diamond title at best.

Yeah, that's true. These rules for a fake belt are weird.
