The WBC saw that they ****ed up, and they had to create an out to the situation.

Basically made Canelo emeritus champion, except without an injury being needed.

Canelo gets to step off of the owed WBC mandatory, keep fighting the voluntaries that he wants to fight, and still hold a WBC trinket for show.

Jermall Charlo is now full WBC champion, will keep fighting who he can get for great exposure, and will get the Canelo fight when Canelo wants to dance.
