  • Comments Thread For: Parker: Andy Ruiz Has Got The Blueprint To Beat Anthony Joshua

Joseph Parker is ready to step up his ambitions to reclaim his World champion status as he faces Alex Leapai at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday, live on DAZN in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK. Parker (25-2 19 KOs) returned to winning ways at home in Christchurch, New Zealand in December with a third round stoppage following two blockbuster nights in Britain. The Kiwi first took on Anthony Joshua in a unification battle in Cardiff in March 2018, surrendering his WBO crown on points. Parker then returned to the UK and met Joshua's old foe Dillian Whyte and served up a fight of the year contender in London in July, climbing off the canvas in the second and ninth rounds to floor Whyte in the final session, but being edged out on the cards.

I think Parker's comments are right on the money. Andy has a blueprint that worked for Andy and might well work for Parker but I'm not sure there are any other heavies out there like them. Povetkin couldn't do it.

Fury nor wilder? Those are two heavys who will beat aj. And most likely wilder by devastating ko and fury by late stoppage. Also feel kownacki could give aj a good fight. Happy aj was finally exposed. The brits were getting out of hand with the comments regarding his greatness... it was uncomfortable to see so many people agreeing on such nonesense. But the scales have leveled themselves finally and we can move on to see some real fights without Hearn and aj holding the belts hostage

The blueprint that Andy used requires an undentable chin. There may well be other ways to skin that cat but if you want to take one to give one there are very few who could take a shot from Joshua and survive it. Ruiz walked through several.

I think if AJ fights Ruiz the same way he fought Parker, Aj will win a boring decision. AJ just got overexcited when he dropped Ruiz, and got caught with a hard shot that he ran into, and never fully recovered from. I think the rematch will look completely different.

The problem is Ruiz won’t fight like Parker did.

Fury wouldn’t get hit by aj and wilder is to fast on his feet to have issues with Aj. Also wilder took everything Ortiz had to give... I don’t think aj is as dangerous as Ortiz do you?

I honestly would be very surprised if aj wins the rematch. I could kinda see aj just getting toppled from here on out by any of the top guys. He has slow feet. Backs up in a straight line. Can’t keep his left hand up. Etc. etc. dude has flaws worse than wilder.

Dangerous? I think Ortiz is a better boxer but if you are talking one punch KO power, I think a fresh Joshua is more dangerous. I do not think Wilder would survive what Ruiz survived in the 3rd. IF Wilder got up from the canvas after the hook, I think the right hand that landed after Ruiz got off the canvas would have finished him. BUT as you say Wilder is faster on his feet, taking one to give one is not likely something Wilder would or should do.

Did you watch the fight? Ruiz was down before hurting Joshua. He just showed a willingness to stand in the line of fire. Something Wilder has definitely and will definitely do
