Who cares that Canelo would probably wipe Pacquiao off the face of the planet?
This is the biggest fight that can be made in boxing.
It would do over a million buys and be one of the best selling PPVs in recent history. Casual fans and the general media would be captivated just because of the stars involved and that always makes the event more fun.
It would also probably be highly entertaining, even if Canelo dominates.
I think it makes sense for both fighters as well.
For Canelo, it’s the biggest super fight that he can make and probably the easiest. He also gets a chance to add a name like Pacquiao to his resume.
For Pacquiao, it’s his chance to win a title in his 9th weight class. If he loses, it doesn’t tarnish his legacy at all.Comment

Manny could try a catch weight off 154. I doubt he could make 154, maybe 150.Comment

Margarito was the one who made Pac think above 147 is too dangerous.
Manny never fought above 147 after Margarito. He said the punches above 147 is "too much".
That's why Pac vacated the title. He was supposed to defend that title against Canelo. Canelo won that title at catchweight of 150. Canelo at that time was too green. Pacquiao at his peak would punish him.Comment

I love Manny coz’ he’s a warrior but I don’t care if he gets his rear end seriously hurt or even killed Vs. Canelo. Why? Coz’ he’s a Jesus freak. Meaning? He believes Jesus has his back. So if he dies, he’ll go to heaven. Real or not I don’t care. That fact alone gives me a peace of mind as a fan.Comment
