Comments Thread For: Spencer Goes Distance Again, Beats Black By Unanimous Decision

Joey Spencer withstood the toughest test of his brief boxing career Sunday night. The unbeaten, 19-year-old junior middleweight prospect fended off Akeem Black and fatigue to win a six-round unanimous decision at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The per round punch count was way off as well. Seemed to click much less when Black landed.

Had it a draw, could have been Spencer by 1 rd at most. PBC owe Black another televised shot

                Spencer was in tough tonite
Needs to work on his defense , was lucky his opponent doesn’t hit hard and looked very tired
Needs to keep those hands up

They're not doing this kid any favors hyping him when he is obviously flawed. 19 years old and exhausted by round 4? He's looking worse as the comp goes up and it hasn't gone up a lot.
