Comments Thread For: Charlo: Harrison Faked Injury; Heard He Got KO'd In Sparring

Jermell Charlo isn't buying Tony Harrison's injury excuse. Charlo indicated during an interview with reporters Friday afternoon that Harrison faked his ankle injury when he pulled out of their rematch. Harrison and Charlo were scheduled to square off in an immediate rematch Sunday night in Las Vegas, but Harrison withdrew from it early this month.

these dudes really need that rematch to get a closure, but the question that'll come up is that will harrison want a tuneup or he'll just go right after mell, either way I thought mell did enough to win the first one as did harrison (draw maybe) but the rematch will reveal who's the better fighter, hopefully it's mell because it's gonna shatter him mentally if he lose again

I heard Lobov knocked him out. You know Ray Mercer beat Tim Sylvia and converted boxers like kJ noons do well in mma. Paulie Malignaggi is just a loud mouth fugazi . Come on he says he’s good looking and he models. His whole life is an exaggeration.

The ref helped Paulie. He didn’t let Lobov fight in the clinch. This was good for you mayweather fans who think running and holding is good boxing. It isn’t. It’s a cheap way to steal a decision and terrible for mortal combat. Go Lobov. I respect you!

It's not good boxing, but it's a part of boxing. GOOD fighters adjust and find a way to nullify running and holding. Like, cutting off the ring and short inside punches.

Was 1 judge or 2 that scored for Harrison?

When you said "It's part of Boxing" you summed it up. It might not be sensational like a KO but it's certainly part of winning. The core question is, do you view boxing solely for entertainment or, as a competitive art form and sport?

"It's a part of boxing" tells me you appreciate the science.
