Bareknuckle has the potential to be bigger and more interesting than "our" boxing for the simple reason that the tactics are more pertinent to a real fistfight.

Much of what's mistaken for "skill" in modern boxing is really just a guy avoiding engagement and striking poses because his research showed his opponent possesses inferior cardio. I don't know how much skill is involved in that. People watch that and think "Well this is dumb, this would never work in a real fight".

Trying to explain it away with skill, skill, skill is wasted breath because ultimately... They're right. They have a point.

We've grown further and further from pure fistfighting & it's created a vacant niche. Maybe our rules & officiating should adapt & bridge the gap.
SKILL ....i.e, FOOT WORK, GIVING DAMAGE AND NOT TAKING DAMAGE
These two skills are frowned upon in this so called sport, so the shelf life of the fighter will be short, the health effects will be long, and the pay will always be minimum......in other words A complete shiiat show of a sport

paulie is the last person who should be representing boxing. Let's put James Kirkland in a bare knuckle fight.

You know, this is part of why boxing ain't what it used to be.

It's why people don't watch boxing like they used to.

Here's the deal. Boxing is a combat sport. Fancy defense is cool, but you have to hit people and hurt them. That's fighting. That's combat.

You can't just be cute and score points with judges and think anybody buys that crap.

I agree. Stick and move/ hit and not get hit are boxing-so long as they have a balance. When there is to much "move" and too much "not get hit" then it's a turn off.

I like skill being displayed, but boxing at it's finest has that element of violence that brings an interest. Likewise, too much moving can give the judges a reason to think you are scared, when effective aggression is highly valued.

If Paulie let his hands go just a smidgen more, he would have been convincing. Too many people in boxing are caught up trying to win the judges through technicality of the points scoring, instead of being convincing enough.

You cannot be aggressive if you are on the backfoot moving and focusing ONLY on defense-you forfeit the most important criteria of the judging (effective aggression) and will have yourself to blame when they read out the scores. True, their are 4 points in scoring, but they aren't all equal when they are being judged.

It went exactly like I said you know nothing about boxing or fighting in general motherf@ckers. I told you weak a55 china hands Paulina wasn't doing sh@t. Lol @ those who said that he'd knock out Lobov. You know jack sh@t. Sit the f@ck down in shame now. You said Conor didn't beat Paulie's a55? Lobov isn't half the striker Conor is and look what happened. Paulie should apologize to MMA fans around the world and admit who the liar really was with his b@tch @ss. Loud mouthed, delusional lil puke got whooped by a couple novices. F@ck him.

Paulie is good at breaking down boxing from a perspective and technical point of view, but in the ring....not so much.

At his best, he was pretty slick and evasive with a great jab. His right hand gave out years ago and once again it did tonight. He hasn't fought for 2-3 years upon retiring and did just enough to where it could have went either way, but it wasn't a great way to be the speaker of boxing.

Put a MFer like Andy Ruiz in there and he will go far.

So the footwork or Ali, the movement of Sweet Pea, and the defense of Mayweather are negatives... You're always are going to have your killers but what kind of longevity are these bare knuckles dumb dumbs are going to have....because it's a naughty thing to avoid being hit in this sport, so all your going have is a group of punch drunk, fuucked up faces, and broke has-beens in the span of 10-15 fights , because your face will be chopped liver if that's the way this "sport" is going to be govern
