Power is a mystery. It’s not just mass times velocity and all that. There are other factors. A certain explosiveness and timing in the sinews.

A punch is only as hard as the speed of the punch and the weight behind it. Wilder has lots of weight in his upper body and turns that weight into his very fast punches. Hand speed and proper punching form is where his power comes from. His straight right is lightning fast and he turns his big shoulders into it.

You don't "BECOME A PUNCHER" at least not Naturally...hell even with PED's you don't all of a sudden develop one punch KO Power. However, you can teach a Punch more Technique and Boxing Skills!
Wilder just have to LISTEN to Mark Breeland and be patient with his damn Jab and go to the body more. He loves knockouts so much that when he see his opponent is hurt he gets very WILD. Did it vs Breazeale and he got caught by Breazeale which buzzed him a bit. What he did which was improvement is that he stepped back and reset...then the knockout came easy after that. He also set up the big KO by at least Shooting The Jab in which Breazeale thought he was countering that Jab with his Left Hand, he did not expect Wilder to shoot that Right Hand so fast like that and them...BOOM!

Not a fan of his Technique at all...However that Right Hand is NO JOKE like him or not you cannot take that from him despite trolls posting their ignorance with "He Doesn't Hit That Hard..."
Also CORE STRENGTH is something that doesn't get talked about often in boxing but Wilder, while he has Skinny Legs he has a Long, Broad and Powerfully Built Torso. Power comes for Core Strength too...
Tommy Hearns probably couldn't squat jack but he was a freaking monster.
Chris Algieri would out squat Pac by a hundred pounds or more but he sure does not come close to Pac's power.
Reflexes, fast twitch muscles and training are the reasons imo. Throwing heavy heavy stones and hitting really heavy bags would help imo.
Elevated and clap pushups too.

Nothing to do with "Squats" Core is in the Torso/Mid Section and NO having a 6 Pack doesn't mean a "STRONG CORE" either
As for Hitman, again STRONG CORE, Broad and Long Torso,
Manny Steward use to slam a big Medicine Ball into Hitman Midsection.
Also Splinting Wood builds up the Core Strength, which was a old school boxing work out. Now instead the use the Big Tire with the Sledge Hammer.
Again this is going back to the Theory of "Punchers Are Born Not Made" because if those Exercises helped build up Power then more guys would be developing Big Power like Hitman and Wilder...Last edited by sicko; 06-22-2019, 10:28 PM.

Carlos Zarate looked like a prison camp detainee.
If they are born punchers, I still think it's because of their muscle composition in the shoulder area .

Wilder power comes from hitting 40 year old men when they are gasping for air.
And thats his best win, with Deontay fast approaching age of 34. An utter joke of a champion, I cant wait till hes retired.Last edited by DreamFighter; 06-23-2019, 02:51 PM.
