Ruiz's boxing IQ and ability to use it is what won the first fight. He kept AJ on his backfoot and circling to his left. This one little skill kept AJ from being able to throw his right hand with his normal authority. Ruiz will be able to this as well in their rematch. Ruiz's mentality when hurt is to become more aggressive rather than cover up (same as Wilder). This especially makes him dangerous since Joshua will be countered by fast hard combinations if he hurts Ruiz and moves in for the finish. AJ probably learned that lesson in the first fight and it will make him somewhat tentative. Anything can happen but I pick Ruiz by KO again and maybe sooner than later.

Joshua isn't in the same league as Lewis and never will be. He's just a more powerful Bruno. He is SLOOOOW and STIFF and very easy to get inside on but what is disappointing with AJ the most is that with all those muscles he is WEAK and SOFT when it comes to inside fighting...he has no inside game which is very disappoint and which is why I think a Change from McCracken is needed
He needs to be trained to be NASTY on the inside. Try getting inside with Lennox Lewis and watch what would've happened to you...

These fighters just don't stack up with the Legends as far as Skills, Work Ethic or just overall Mentality
You don't stand in the ring and smile and hug the guy that just defeated you
So AJ need to be trained to be NASTY! You can be classy outside of the ring but in that ring you should be trying to DESTROY the guy in front of you. Then after you whip his ass then you show him all the respect in the world!Comment

Speaking of heavyweight size I would pick Marciano at 185-190 over Joshua. Why? Because he had as good a chin as any heavy weight ever and he could get inside someone like Joshua's defense and nail him repetitiously with very hard punches. Not saying Rocky was the greatest ever because he wasn't but he would have eaten Joshua's lunch. He got put out twice and rocked by very sub par fighters. The punchers in the 90s just weren't what people think they are, you get hit in this era and you go down, back then dudes were eating all types of shots from supposedly "monster" punchers and you just don't see that happen today. I mean Mavrovic, 6'3, 215, essentially the size of a cruiser on fight night not only walked through clean punches from Lewis, he rocked him too. Can you imagine Mavrovic eating bombs from an AJ or Wilder, **** even Fury would hurt him.Comment

Did you not watch the fight? Joshua got caught coming in for the kill when he dropped Ruiz.
Joshua can be as offensive as he wants. Ruiz is a skilled counterpuncher who'll make Joshua pay for his mistakes & then land combos on him few HWs are even trying to throw let alone can land like Ruiz can land on him.
Idk that Joshua can overcome Ruiz in Nov. or Dec. Respect to Team Joshua if they can reverse it. I think he needs to use his size/reach & if he hurts Ruiz be patient & cautious this time around. Score points. Don't worry about the KO so much or having your own Wilder-like viral KO video.Comment

-Tillis, Green, Tucker, Smith etc. It took Tyson WAY too many shots to put these guys down for me to put his power on the level of a Wilder. We're talking literally hundreds of punches.Nah man, totally disagree. It would be impossible for him to win all but two of his fights, getting hit by the likes of Tyson (yes old, but still carrying his power), Holyfield, Briggs, Mercer, Vitali etc etc.
He only went down twice in his whole career at heavyweight, and had one of the division's great careers. That isn't a weak chin.
Joshua has fought a fraction of that opposition and been down five times already.
-The majority of Holyfield's KOs came at cruiser, he wasn't that big a puncher at HW.
-Vitali doesn't hit that hard he's an accumulation puncher and he rocked Lewis, hell Chris Arreola & Chisora withstood his power. Speaking of Chisora Fury actually stopped him, Fury can crack.
You also bring up Mercer, one of the greatest chins all time and Wlad took him out with ease and despite his age he was not a shot or chinny fighter.
Furthermore Mavrovic would be nothing more than Euro level like a Tom Schwarz. People like to say "oh 90s boxing was better" but the whole euro & international scene wasn't, guys like Maskaev, Mavrovic, Golota etc. I doubt they even get past a guy like Dimitrenko.Comment

Its a big ask to learn how to beat Ruiz along with overcoming the mental/confidence issues one might have after a bad L.
And we've been seeing people KO'd who took immediate rematches & things didn't go well & they usually don't. This seems like such a big ask of Joshua.
Again respect to Team Joshua if they can flip it, but it still seems like a big bold move that could really eff up Joshua's trajectory if they don't flip it.Comment
