Depends how you look at it.

AJ and Whyte were both quite green when they fought, still at domestic level. Whyte was also carrying a shoulder injury. He had AJ badly hurt too.

Klitschko was old, coming off a loss and inactive. He almost stopped Joshua.

Povetkin was nearly 40, looked garbage after coming back from his drugs ban. Didn’t look good against Hammer and nearly got iced by David Price. He’s still decent but looked nothing like Povetkin of a few years ago.

As for Parker, well the ref didn’t even let him work. He wouldn’t let him near Joshua.


That’s not to discredit any of his wins, you can only beat what’s infront of you but it’s not like he beat great versions of some of those fighters and even then he was showing vulnerabilities, getting hurt etc.. So it’s not like there was no signs.

There is some truth in what you say but you can say that about any boxer around now. Who has Fury ever beat?
Wlad was old (+looked terrible) in the Fury fight. After Wlad you go to Derek Chisora next.

Wilder - Ortiz and Stiverne his best wins in over 40 fights.

So yeah mock Aj's record but he has only had 23(?) fights, and when you consider that, he fought damn good opposition. Guy has a terrible chin, If Ruiz had Joshua's chin he would have lost in the 3rd round.

Yes, it is also his body type also. Ruiz Junior probably has a really strong cardiovascular system. Where as Anthony Joshua is built and probably functions more like a sprinter/power lifter morphed into a boxer. 'Also fighters like Ruiz Junior benefit more from old school training, long runs or prolong aerobic work/mixed in with boxing training.

When David Haye took over Chisora's training regime, he kind of mocked him for going on his morning long runs which he always enjoyed 'Chisora has always valued roadwork heavily' Anyway it all back fired in Haye attempting to my Chisora into a formula 1 car/Fighter jet, when he is more like a Tank. 'Totally back fired and Chisora fought as if he was weak'

If you look back in history most of the power house heavyweights did not have good stamina, accept Mike Tyson at his peak had great stamina, Marciano, and probably George Foreman.

At this point in time, Andy Ruiz Junior needs to be wise. Because in today's culture, it will be easy for him to get duped into changing his entire training regime. 'Since he has won the fight, the media have kind of been mocking him' even plenty of pundits where mocking him.

None of these things would of happened 30-40 years ago. 'He has been getting bullied slightly by the media'.

Yep, like I said before, only at heavyweight, but Ruiz just needs to be as good as he was on June 1st, no weight loss or anything different. I reckon that Ruiz beats any version of Joshua we've seen.

i cant believe that someone who defeated klitcschko, Parker Whyte and povetkin cant defeat Ruiz.

Joshua should not be defensive. He should use his heavy offense as a defense

Wlad isn't great vs big men, he can beat any small fighter though.

Ruiz got robbed vs Parker, and in the JP fight the ref wouldn't allow JP to fight on the inside with AJ.

Pedvetkin has to be the most overrated HW in the past decade, his best win is against Takam.

Whyte wasn't even ranked top 20 when they fought, just like Pedvetkin he gained his ranking fighting nobody in the top 5, all these guys do is fight 10-15th ranked guys.

That’s my thoughts also. AJ underestimated him before the fight and then during. Now he has a full camp dedicated just for him instead of a few weeks plus he had a lot of ring rust while Ruiz just came off an easy fight and plenty of training.

I’m on record saying AJ wins the rematch.

That's what's up. However, AJ now knows that ruiz is fast, can box, and has power. Just like ruiz now knows hes faster, can take AJ best shot, and can put him down with his. I see ruiz training to put on a highlight reel performance while AJ is looking to regain confidence. Im going on record saying ruiz wins the rematch via tko again.

Lewis didn't have a soft chin. It would have been impossible for him to beat all the guys he did, plenty of massive punchers, only getting dropped twice in his whole career.
Lewis didn't fight in that ultra defensive jab and grab style that Steward taught Klitschko.
I remember his fights with Ray Mercer and Briggs, off the top of my head, where he went toe to toe and took plenty of shots from two massive punchers. I remember he was even fighting Briggs with his hands down by his waist - nothing like Klitschko's style.

He got put out twice and rocked by very sub par fighters. The punchers in the 90s just weren't what people think they are, you get hit in this era and you go down, back then dudes were eating all types of shots from supposedly "monster" punchers and you just don't see that happen today. I mean Mavrovic, 6'3, 215, essentially the size of a cruiser on fight night not only walked through clean punches from Lewis, he rocked him too. Can you imagine Mavrovic eating bombs from an AJ or Wilder, **** even Fury would hurt him.

Nah man, totally disagree. It would be impossible for him to win all but two of his fights, getting hit by the likes of Tyson (yes old, but still carrying his power), Holyfield, Briggs, Mercer, Vitali etc etc.
He only went down twice in his whole career at heavyweight, and had one of the division's great careers.That isn't a weak chin.
Joshua has fought a fraction of that opposition and been down five times already.

I've just realized you seem to actually be implying that Fury would hurt Mavrovic more than Lewis did - so you're actually saying Fury hits harder than Lews.
That is some straight up dumb **** - I can't take you seriously if that's what you're saying. Lewis was a massive puncher, proved throughout his career.
Some guys just have rock solid chins, like Mavrovic. Mavrovic never fought again after Lewis, but he fought like a man possessed and had zero quit in him.
