what are your thoughts on this guy?
After his brutal loss to Margarito he seems to be going in the right direction again. I rewatched the Estrada fight last night and he took some clean shots in that and came back strong to win by TKO in the 10th. I think the problem in the Margarito fight was when he got hurt he didnt know what to do. Either from the jitters from fighting on prime time PPV or just panicking against an opponent the calibre of Margarito. I think he has the potential. He is still green in alot of areas but he's still only 27. He has the power for sure at Welter to compete. Does he have the composure?

After re-watching that fight I feel you. He was too much of a target for Estrada. Estrada is a gutsy fighter, but lacks a lot of boxing skill and lacks major power. I tried to imagine Cintron in against any of the top welters and I just couldn't see him beating any of them. I think Paul Williams or Quintana would punish him badly. If he is to climb back up in the division he should fight either Williams or Quintana to guage where he stands.

You think Cintron is a better prospect than Paul Williams or Quintana? Because I was impressed by both. Paul showed good chin and his size makes him dangerous for anyone. Quintana showed he can take a shot and box with a puncher. Cintron lost to Margarito (no shame in that) and just didn't look that impressive against Estrada (who is nothing more than a good contender; a sacraficial lamb for champs or a mandatory). Against Estrada, he was controlling the fight in the middle rounds but let Estrada land some big clean shots in the 7th and turn the fight around. Also he didn't finish with enough killer instinct to me. He seemed to be picking his shots too carefully. Maybe I am being over-critical. What do you think?

I think he stand a lil too tall and doesnt use his jab enough. That estarda fight would have been over if he used his jab more consistent, and he also needs to learn a inside game with those long arms of his. maybe if he fought a lil lower that would help his inside game a bit and create a smaller target for his opponents.

well everyones will and composure are tested at some point in there careers and lucky for him it came early on. 27 is still young IMO and he has plenty of room for improvement. If he can improve in those areas you mentioned and utilize his height to his advantage then he can succeed. Guys his height can succeed at welterweight without being tagged that often with good defence and a stiff jab. Dont think Estrada isnt all that strong. He hung in with Mosely for 10 rounds at 147 and Mosely is very strong at the weight. The problem of course is when he gets a chin check each and every time.
