Comments Thread For: Lomachenko-Campbell Deal Expected Before Going To Purse Bid

The purse bid the WBC has ordered for the Vasiliy Lomachenko-Luke Campbell lightweight title fight probably won't be necessary. The WBC has postponed that purse bid multiple times and rescheduled it again this week for Wednesday. BoxingScene.com has learned, though, that the two sides are expected to come to an agreement before having to bid.

Campbell would get more $$$ if it does go to a bid.

Absolutely, but I want to see how Hearn does this. I questioned what he was going to do when Miller popped dirty, where he lost control of the situation. Will he give Cambell the best hometown edge possible? Why? The only real money that I see for Hearn, beyond popcorn and beer money, is options to copromote Loma in future. .

Really don't understand what's the reason for Hearn to say the fight will be in the US if there's a purse bid. The only thing I can think of is that Hearn implies that he won't try to win the bid. And he is making this known hoping that Arum goes in low, so that he can surprise everyone and win the bid after all

Its because of the DAZN money. UK side of Matchroom is run as a proper business, making profit. US side is just spunking cash all over the place

So this means DAZN will splash out on a fight in the US, but not in the UK? Guess this mades some kind of sense...

Odds are Lomo 7 1/2 to 1. Campbell is a very big lightweight with excellent skills. Anything can happen, I believe this will be a better fight than expected.
