Comments Thread For: Roach: Thurman 'Terrible' In Last Fight; Will Run From Pacquiao

By Keith Idec - Every time Freddie Roach watches Keith Thurman's last fight, he is less impressed with Pacquiao's upcoming opponent. It wasn't just that Josesito Lopez almost upset Thurman when he hurt the heavily favored fighter in the seventh round. Pacquiao's trainer considered it a poor performance overall for the unbeaten WBA "super" world welterweight champion and questioned whether Thurman ever can regain the form that enabled him to defeat Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter before injuries interrupted his career...

Thurman going to be smiling looking at the ceiling after the fight.

Then want a fight with Spence to cash out. That Josesito performance was doo doo

Its exactly what happened, he sht himself when Spence said lets go.

They say Thurman is having an awesome camp and is very motivated, Manny is doing a lot of talking Thurman a lot of training.

Roach with his dumb they will run routine, Thurman has the ability and brain along with being a full WW to clearly outbox Manny, Roach tried this BS on Floyd .

I hope the hype makes Manny betting favorite, Ive always said he avoids full WWs , the last was Horn before that was in 2011, since then 14 fights with only Horn a true WW.

Their plan of an 70% Thurman might backfire on them.

I have to rewatch the Lopez and Broner fights from each to make a good pick.

I scanned over the lopez fight and Thurman's punches look crisp, his punch timing is still good but he got hit a lot in return and in the late rounds he faded. He ran a lot seemingly hoping Lopez would tire but lopez still had a ton of energy late and Thurman looked exhaused.

Id like to see who's reflexes look more faded, I think that is the key. One thing is that Thurman likes to box, a very different style than the physical guys like jeff horn that roughed up pac. If Thurman has low punch output like a lot of times, pac could actually win this.

Thurman's stamina last fight ******, if he can fix that then that really helps.

This fight could end up a total disappointment.

Keith WILL run, it's his game plan nowadays, but Manny is horrible at cutting the ring so the optics could be Manny following Keith around for 12 rounds while Keith pot shots away.
