While we all sit here and say GGG should get another title or he should fight this guy or that guy to get Canelo, he’s rated number 1 for 3 of the 4 belts, 2 of which Canelo owns.
He hasn’t been named a mandatory for either the WBA or WBC but he is number 1. Things are a little bit more confusing because Charlo is the WBC interim champ and I believe he’s the mandatory there. Brant is the WBA regular champ, which means he might end up being that but I don’t know.
If I’m reading the WBA website correctly, it says Canelo is supposed to make a mandatory defense by June 2020. Does this mean GGG can fight a bum in September and get a mandatory shot in June.
