Serious question..... Why is Bob Arum so greedy? He's nearly 90 years old!

He enjoys what he is doing so it probably helps him live longer. He might make it to 100. I am sure he does enjoy that 300 million. If he wants to go on a trip he goes first class. If he wants a nice house or a new car he buys it. Making the most possible money on promoting fights is an old habit of his. That's how he got that 300 million.I don't understand why this old geezer is so greedy. WHY?????????????????
His networth is listed at $300 million. This guy is nearly 90 freaking years old. He only has what? a small amount of years to live before he's permanently in the dirt.
I don't understand this guys obsession with money. He's not a young person anymore. How about you get out of the way of and actually go spend all of that money instead of continuing to be money hungry?
You wont be able to take all of that money with you. Try living a little and stop stalling big time fights.Comment

It's obvious he is enjoying himself doing what he is doing. He might surprise you and live a lot more years. I am sure he buys whatever he wants whenever he wants it. Meanwhile he is making money for his family. Warren Buffet is much older and richer than Arum and he goes to the office 5 days a week and eats his meals at Mc Donald's for 3 bucks a meal. He loves what he does too.Comment

He’s ***ish. The stereotypes are pretty true, they are extremely determined business people even into old age. Never easy to do business with and will sc**** every last penny they can get out of a deal, especially older generations. It’s a cultural thing of not letting people get one over on you.
Go and try to buy or sell something to an old ***ish man and try to haggle, it’s crazy.
(I’m ***ish, before anyone calls me racist or something)

If you want to live a long time, never stop working. Bob loves his job and he's as sharp as he is at such an old age because he sticks to his routine and keeps working.I don't understand why this old geezer is so greedy. WHY?????????????????

It's not greed. He's running a business. Even if he won't be around to spend the money, it's a family business and his relatives will continue to run the business when he dies.Comment

I’d like to see some concrete examples of what you mean by him being greedy.
He’s running a profitable company, Top Rank. That company is a corporate entity with employees and contracts to fulfill (with ESPN especially). That company will continue to exist long after he’s gone.
Are you saying because he’s old he should run it into the ground and try to start losing money — or quit trying to make money? Because that wouldn’t be responsible to the fighters he has under contract and the employees who work there who will carry on after he’s gone. It wouldn’t be responsible to his contracted partners like ESPN and the casinos and other venues he works with.
Exactly what would you have him do differently?Comment
