Pass him in what fanbase or legacy? 2 totally different things. Fanbase and money MAYBE. He's already one of the most famous boxers today and he's only 20 and not even a world champ yet. Yet he's already more paid then most fighters because of his endorsements and revenues he got going on outside the ring. Once he becomes a world champ his paychecks in and out the ring will only sky rocket. Most fighters you become rich and famous after you win a title and in many cases even after the title you need to beat a big name to cross over. Well he already has both and is so early in his career. Because he's so young and ahead of game in fame department and he unlike Canelo can speak English and sell himself on social media and other platforms (Canelo doesn't speak English and really doesn't go out of his way to sell himself Golden Boy and Oscar really do all the selling for him and he just chills and fights). That's a huge advantage to market himself to his fans and to enrage his haters (Floyd proved that haters buy your fights sometimes more then your fans do lol). If he keeps winning he could end up being the face of the sport for the next decade because he will only become more famous and polarizing.
As for legacy? I think there is almost no shot. I can't see Ryan winning titles like Canelo and beating guys Canelo has beaten. Canelo only 28 and his resume is already approaching ATG status. He's already a HOFer if he get's hit by a bus tomorrow. It will be very hard if not impossible for Ryan to hit those same achievements by 28 let alone in his entire career. But he definitely has a shot at making major paper and being the lightning rod for the sport just off the strength of his fanbase he got already.
