Spence wanted it on PPV. It was initially going to Fox cable

i woulnd't be so quick to call garcia a con artist. he was a pound for pound ranked fighter with a head of steam. they're supposed to take challenges. garcia was one of a very small handful of guys who could headline a spence ppv at cowboy stadium.

he was not a small 126 and 130 lber, he literally killed himself to make those weights. it's all on video if you want to watch him puking in an elevator and literally unable to stand on his own.

yeah, his power didn't carry much beyond 135 or 140, but we didn't know that until he fought a welterweight. he went into training looking for a win. he just ran into a bigger fighter who had a lot more than sizing going for him. spence is f#cking good. furthermore, he'd never shown that kind of skill aginst somebody as polished and skilled as garcia. we didn't know he was that good, particularly with his counterpunching.

The s**t is gonna bomb on PPV. Not because of Spence, but because of Porter, he makes for awful fights.

I have no idea where this myth of Porter being “fan friendly” comes from. Dude has an awful style that ruins fights.

I quite like this fight and one i’ve wanted to see outside of Spence v Crawford.

Don’t rate Porter that highly and thought he lost his last fight but he’s never easy to deal with his ugly style, so i’m wondering if Spence can deal with it in good fashion. Porter is still one of the top WW’s anyway.

                  PPV?

This shit is going to flop. 100k buys?

I thought Haymon was all about the long game? He's had chances to really build the brand to the next level the past year (Wilder-Breazele and Pac-Broner come to mind) by putting the big names of Fox, but instead went for the easy money. Its disappointing.

I support pbc but they got way too many ppvs this year and i understand why haymon is selling, they obviously need more money to pay these guys and thats what happens when you overpay guys,i gotta a feeling this is gonna do okay numbers and we wont ever see spence on free tv again smh

It's on PPV because it's the only way to shut these fighters up from demanding unrealistic pay checks.

"If the fight sells, you get your extra money."

If not, "I told you so."

There have been cases like this. Crawford wanted more money in the Postol fight. Bob Arum put it on PPV as a compromise. He knew it wouldn't be that big, but it's the only way to make it happen.
