With exception of his j rock Hurd scoring
He prolly rated wilder due to fighting ranked opponent.

It was quite pathetic they way they hyped it up. Even respected champions like Ward and Bradley hyping it. Saying it went all the way back to John L Sullivan etc.
when they did that roll of champions, they conveniently quickly hopped over Lennox Lewis -> Wladimir Klitschko.
"Lennox lewis became undisputed after beating Holyfield... then there was Wladimir Klitschko".
Embarrassing marketing ploy for something that means absolutely nothing. The truth is that Fury retired and gave up his lineage, that barely went back to Klitschko anyway. I have my doubts whether Klitschko could truthfully be considered lineal champ anyway.

Fury's lineage is fuzzy.....
like kafkod pointed out, Wlad never held the WBC title..... but the truth is, the WBC did not even rank Wladimir simply because he was the WBA champ..... unlike when the WBC decided to rank the WBA champ Golovkin.....
also, few insiders rate Wlad over Vitali head-to-head..... even though the argument exists that Wlad achieved more
this is the best/most relevant post, in this thread so far.....

Manny Pacquiao is the lineal welterweight champion. that means nothing now.
since belts and titles are meaningless, they are only as good as the guy who is holding them.
what gives some title value? if the guy holding it fought and beat the best opponents.
Thats it.
