  • Cruiserweight is a true blessing of a division

Their bodies don't allow them to move to duck opponents, only upwards if theyre truly exceptional.

Unfashionable, almost completely ignored by the casual, not much cash, so we consistently get the best fighting the best.

KO power with skill. Once again this weekend proved cruiserweight is the best division

If you're that big and any good then just fight at heavyweight.

That's always been the problem with the cruiserweight division.

Too many divas in the Heavyweight division. They won't get to fight the best there. Bunch of frauds

Very under-appreciated division, I agree. Probably because it’s so relatively new. Seems only the more serious fans care about it. Damn shame. So many good fights/fighters. Possibly the best combination of size, athleticism and skill.

Best division in boxing for entertainment.

It's like the heavyweights of old days. Not those 250lbs+ freaks

I cannot agree with this. Practically everyone fighting at cruiserweight is just too small to compete at the highest level of the heavyweight division. Yet, pre-eighties, most heavyweights probably could’ve fought at cruiser. Athletes have gotten bigger straight across the board, not just in boxing.

You don't think the cruisers could compete with Andy Ruiz?

If the cruiserweight division was scrapped it would force a lot of those guys to move up and add depth to the heavyweight ranks. Which would make for more entertaining fights and a vibrant scene.

This happens all the time in lower divisions....

Agree, It's been one of the best for a while. It always delivers.

The first WBSS was brilliant. I guess the fact the fighters didn't speak English lessened their appeal to the TV companies overseas, and that allowed the tournament to be made more easily. So it all came as a treat for the fans who followed the division when it was mostly ignored.

It's not just heavyweight division, the amount of plastic titles going around doesn't help. One belt for one division solves the issue, too many plastic belts going around people padding themselves with easy to get belts because they'd rather fight for a vacant one than fight the top man.

Cruiserweight guys all seem like they want to fight each other, its just the problem with money. I think we need a division inbetween Cruiser and Heavyweight to further develop that line of talent, guys like Fury and AJ are super heavyweights and they shouldn't really be fighting guys who barely just make 225lbs.
