Seriously? Miller, Breazeale and Schwartz were all designed to be a showcase KO for the casuals. That's how you turn a $10 million dollar rematch into $40 million.
Make no mistake, Ruiz was always going to be a problem for AJ just like Wyhte is a problem for Wilder. The difference is that Eddie doesn't control enough fighters to force Wilder into the ring with Wyhte.
After Miller, Haymon dangled Wilder vs Wyhte for big money and Dillon bit on it. AJ went to another Haymon fighter and they said no but did offer Ruiz, a style nightmare for Joshua and he took it. The fight should never have happened, Eddie took the gamble and lost because he missed the set up. It was brillant.
As for AJ, he'll get his belts back in a stinker. It's possible that Ruiz may realize he's getting skunked and goes for broke but in that case, Ruiz gets stopped this time around.
None of this is that difficult to see, it's all there, just follow the money.

Again, that would have averaged out to only $12 million apiece. (with everything included) No matter what Wilder said his team is smarter than that. Wilder picked up $12 million for Breazale and will get another 12 for another can and make $40 million for the rematch.
It's always about the Benjamin.

Tyson will be running, Deontay will be hunting.
So Fury vs. presumably another bum on Sept. 21 or Oct. 5 and Wilder-Ortiz II on Sept. 28? That would work out great for promotional purposes. The Wilder-Ortiz rematch makes me nervous though.Comment
