He has to. His fighting style is certainly not what's going to make him popular in the U.S.

That's exactly what's going to make him more popular. He's a slick white brother in a sport mainly dominated by Mexicans and blacks.

I think he's the best heavyweight in the world, in an era of mainly less skilled heavies.

        Stay disciplined Tyson. Good luck.

I get your point bro, but...were you too young to watch Prince Naseem Hamed's entrances?

Fighters need to do more than go in there and knock a guy out. They need to stand out. That's called marketing and it's how you get over. It's why Hamed got over, why Floyd got over, why McGregor got over, why James Te Huna got over. You need to appeal to a casual audience and get mainstream coverage. Tyson Fury, in one night, got more mainstream coverage than all of Deontay Wilder's in-ring victories.

In fact, the only other situation where Wilder got more coverage was screaming at Radio Raheim "TILL THIS DAY!!" which was called threatening by the media. That's now how you get casual fans to watch your product. But a "big huggable bear" singing a popular Aerosmith song to a girl after a fight? That'll do it.

It’s a bit of fun and he was obviously enjoying fighting in Vegas.

Nothing wrong with adding a bit of fun and colour to the event. More fighters should learn how to self promote like he does.

I disagree. His fighting style doesn't cater to casual fans. He's more entertaining outside the ring than inside. His performance against Wlad - an excellent technical performance - would make most casual fans never want to see him again. Not sure why you think him being white is an advantage by the way.

His style appeals to a lot of American black fans. He's slick, very skilled, and has an attitude.

Being white is an advantage if you are awake, especially in boxing. There aren't many good white fighters. Fury is one of the more skilled ones.
