Champion pro boxer and former Olympian Marcus Browne just can’t stay away from his ex-girlfriend, authorities said Thursday.
Browne, 28, was arrested Wednesday for violating an order of protection barring him from seeing the mother of his daughter, according to a criminal court complaint.
The undefeated light heavyweight allegedly pushed his way into his former flame’s apartment in Clifton after dropping their child off on May 22 and refused to leave.
Browne asked to use the bathroom and got into an argument with 30-year-old woman, causing her to call 911, a source close to the boxer said.
This is the fourth time the pugilist has been busted for interaction with his ex.
Two of the previous arrests were combined, and Browne pleaded to disorderly conduct last year. In January, he resolved the third arrest by pleading guilty to criminal contempt, got a conditional discharge and was ordered to complete a 26-session domestic violence course. The order of protection was kept in place.
Browne was arraigned on criminal contempt and trespassing charges in Staten Island Criminal Court on Wednesday. Bail was set at $5,000, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office said.
On Jan. 19, Browne won the WBA interim light heavyweight title in Las Vegas. He is also a 2012 U.S. Olympian and a Daily News Golden Gloves champion.
