Wrong! Joshua may well win the rematch but if he does it's a KO by round eight. He won't out skill Ruiz and the longer the fight goes the more it favors Ruiz.Comment

Or in AlabamaNot only this.
He'll have advantages from that ref that lets him rip off his tape to take a break, or that ref that lets him spit out his mouthpiece to take a break.
Joshua seemed scared on fight night. If he can't handle that pressure and can only feel "comfortable" in his home town...it doesn't matter either way. If I were him, I would demand the fight be back in the US for pride and honor reasons. Hell, do it in Mexico if you truly want a "neutral" venue.

If you want to to be truly great in boxing, you have to prove yourself in America, it’s that simple. Look at Lennox Lewis. Calzaghe beat Hopkins in Vegas. Hamed fought several times there, although he was dropped v Kelley and Sanchez, and lost to Barrera. I’m British btw, but US is where the biggest fights happen. That’s the rub. A UK fighter will have to leave at sum point if he wants to make the most money and be truly validated. So after AJ losing... is the lesson UK fighters should stay in the UK forever? or should they leave earlier to get that experience travelling to Prepare them for that big American fight? Taking less money to fight in the middle of the night isn’t quite badass though. I guess it depends on how good u think u are, or how great u hope to be. But yeah AJ needs to win period, so if the UK helps, he needs to do that. He did got to America. He needs to win now look good later as George would say.
If Joshua wants to be as good as Hearn has made him out to be, he has to fight in America.
They were talking about having all their fights in Britain a couple of years ago but Fury has forced their hand by fighting there. I think Joshua probably wanted to stay at home where he’s in his comfort zone.Comment

It’s only wrong once the fight is over. AJ will have the hunger that was missing in the first fight, his mindset was all wrong before. All the dumb ass comments in the news about him and all the stuff his peers are spewing. The Andy Ruiz smiling Mexican routine won’t hold any weight in fight two, people just going with the crowd or simply prejudiced, but he has the tools and will
get the job done.Comment

That’s ridiculous. It’s a contract, it’s up to AJ’s team to decide. Home advantage is a massive advantage, Ruiz had it, he signed to give it back in a rematch, simple as that.
I love how idiots want to make it like if AJ wins the rematch they already have their discrediting excuses ready to roll, it’s just small minded and childish. They should just come out and say it straight ‘I don’t like him, he’s British, rich, good looking...insert whatever insecurity they have that makes them hate him’.Comment

LOL good way to spin the narrative that Andy Ruiz had Home Advantage when AJ was on a quest to conquer America.. If Joshua was able to beat Ruiz then he would continue to fight in America. But now he lost so he is running back to his country with his tail between his legs. That’s ridiculous. It’s a contract, it’s up to AJ’s team to decide. Home advantage is a massive advantage, Ruiz had it, he signed to give it back in a rematch, simple as that.

technical skills: Ruiz has small edge
Reach: Joshua
Stamina: Ruiz
Ring generalship: Ruiz (this is what won him the first fight).
Hand speed: Ruiz
Determination: This is an intangible and could be the determining factor in the rematch.
This will be a great fight. Joshua wins if he has determination and is not kept on his back foot circling to his left. Ruiz wins if Joshua is not psychologically prepared for a hard fight and is kept on his back foot.Comment

I agree. On the point on ring generalship (or boxing IQ is a similar category). Ruiz had it in the first fight, but that is linked to the psychological state of Joshua also. Joshua need not have fought Ruiz that way and he will have reflected on that. It’s not like the kind of boxing IQ Mayweather had, where he was basically a level above, Ruiz and AJ are probably on the same level, AJ just didn’t think, he just wanted to get the job done and get out of there because it was no win fight for him. I believe he will come to fight two very differently and he is capable of boxing off the back foot and controlling the range, and in the UK they will make sure it’s nice big ring.Power - Joshua
