He is not a soft puncher. In his early days, he used to knock out people with punches....I think he just changed styles....because browling leaves you open to knockouts...

Yeah I think brawling wouldn't suit him at all. I think the ko in the beginning of the career happens to every champ because of the lessor competition. Only the real ko punchera continue to ko people at the elite. But I don't think fury punches had any effect on wilder. It was more his overall erratic feints and elusive movement that kept wilder at bay. But to be fair wilder was making fury miss as well.
