Comments Thread For: Hearn: Anthony Joshua Wants To Right His Wrong at MSG

New York - The boxing world is still buzzing about the recent heavyweight upset that happened at Madison Square Garden - when Andy Ruiz (33-1, 22 KO's) stopped Anthony Joshua (22-1, 21 KO's. A few days later, Joshua invoked his rematch clause. Joshua has told his promoter Eddie Hearn that he wants the rematch back in New York. Hearn does not agree.

Interesting. At least this probably gets the issue of venue out of the picture. I can respect Joshua for this too, I as well as most others probably would have thought he’d skulk back to the UK.

Funny how Hearn states "If a deal can be made to fight in the UK"

I think alot of people on here do not understand rematch clauses.

Well you would certainly be one of them .lol

A deal would need to be made if Ruiz breaches a contract to what he's ALREADY agreed to ,this would then be brought to lawyers and it would really stall any fight for a long time but it IS up to team Joshua where it happens.

Ruiz is not getting 50 million I can tell you that ,its not up to him . lol

Should they persue U.K they would simply give him a minor increase to fast track the fight.

Dazn is trying to conquer the American market
This fight was always slated to be in the US
This is all bullchit from Hearn , but he won’t get his wish
Plus , i think this looks good for AJ , win or lose , at least some redemption

Apparently the rematch clause dictated there would be a rematch if Joshua wanted it but it must have left negotiating room for the venue. So, looks like if it is in the UK Ruiz could get substantially more than $10 million. Ruiz is willing to increase his risk of losing the titles by fighting in the UK but wants to be well paid for doing so. Can't blame him for that. I believe the rematch (if Joshua is psychologically up for it) will be a good hard fought fight. If it is in the UK and goes to the judges, I favor Joshua. If it is MSG I would favor Joshua by KO or a close and fair decision either way if it goes the distance.

Ruiz wants 50 million??? Wtf??? This is what's wrong with boxing. That fat f**k can't even bother to get in shape. He beat an overrated, juiced up, body builder. Fury would box circles around him and if Wilder lands like AJ did in the 3rd, it's lights out for the fat boy.

Salute to Anthony Joshua! If the rematch went to a decision in the UK, and Joshua won all the belts back, it would not be a good look!

Ruiz is trying to cash out. After a 50M payday, he will be just like Maidana. Never heard from again!
