Comments Thread For: Orucuta Remains In Coma Following Emergency Brain Surgery

Felipe Orucuta's hopes of a third shot at a major title are no longer-nor is any chance of the boxer ever fighting again. The 33-year old from Mexico suffered near-fatal injuries in a 10th round knockout loss to countryman Jonathan Javier Rodriguez last Friday in his hometown of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico. The veteran super flyweight had one more fight to go, however, as he suffered a brain bleed from injuries sustained in the bout and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

Everyone that supports boxing is responsible for this.

I also believe like others that Orucuta deserved to win the first fight against Narvaez. The fact is that the fight was in Argentina and it looked like many times the judges (WBO) tried to protect the champion with home decisions when the fights were very close. The few times that Narvaez fought outside of his country ended losing. Anyway, best wishes for Orucuta and hoping for the best possible recovery.

By the same logic everyone that supports the cultivation and distribution of food is also responsible for somebody dying of asphyxia every day
