    Who is GGG ducking?

I read a lot of terrible comments on this board about GGG but he fought Canelo twice and Danny Jacobs. He also unified with David Lemieux and fought at least five others who were top 10 middleweights at the time he fought them.

Vanes was a late replacement fight in which GGG wanted to stay warmed up for his payday with Canelo. Rolls was a comeback fight and probably a warm up to Canelo 3. If you think he should have fought Derevenchenko or Charlo or Andrade in between these Canelo fights, you wouldn’t last long as a boxing promoter lol.

For some reason this is a GGG hating forum and hating on him is the popular thing to do.I agree with you that he fears nobody and will fight anybody AFTER he gets his rematch with Canelo and the chance for revenge and to get his titles back.

GGG only started fighting easier opponents after the first Canelo fight. Prior to that and prior to the Jacobs fight, he was avoided by all the top middleweights.

The big money he received from the first Canelo fight changed all that. He fought an inactive junior middleweight in Vanes Martirosyan, instead of fulfilling his IBF mandatory against Sergiy Derevyanchenko or unifying with WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders. Then after he lost the Canelo rematch, he fought Steve Rolls instead of fighting Jermall Charlo to become the WBC mandatory. A third fight with Canelo will ONLY happen if he has a belt or becomes a mandatory.

Why would anyone in their right mind risk a 45% split with the biggest star in boxing to take a short notice fight with Derevyenchenko or anyone with a pulse?

Why would anyone be expected to fight a guy like Charlo in their first fight back after a loss?

If GGG is as good as his fans believe he is, Derevyanchenko and Charlo would have been easy work. But father time has caught up to GGG, so he's trying to sneak in another Canelo payday before he retires. No shame in that...

But the fact is GGG would have been better prepared for the Canelo rematch if he had fought Derevyanchenko first, and now, he needs to have a belt or be a mandatory for Canelo to have any interest in fighting him. GGG appears to have lost a step, but he's still dangerous. At this point in time, Canelo wants to make history as the first undisputed WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO Mexican middleweight champion, so GGG brings nothing to the table without the WBO strap...
