yeah that was a trash oppkent selection and by no means has any significance. But speaking of age, the best "win" of Canelo's career is a controversial decision over 36 yr old ggg. Most fighters start to lose their prime around 33, which is why golden boy waited until ggg was 35 to fight him.

Golovkin didn't do all that great but he did what he SHOULD do. Rolls was a woefully inferior opponent.

The punch that dropped Rolls was a solid shot. It only took the one punch. Golovkin has never been a one punch KO boxer but he's considerably heavy handed. Heavy handed boxers don't necessarily do well against other elite boxers. See the Canelo and Jacobs fights. Rolls seemed like he was much bigger than Golovkin and I thought it might take him awhile to break him down. He did stopped him quicker than it looked like it was going to take.

Rolls is still an inferior boxer and this win doesn't tell us much going forward other than Golovkin will always look great against cans.

Its obvious GGG has declined, if they ever fought again and GGG fights the way he fought last night, he could be in serious trouble.

I didn't saw anything special from him, he eats too many unnecesary shots instead of moving his head and countering...maybe his age has caught up to him.

Doesn't change the fact he beat Canelo in their first outting and was robbed like Fury with Wilder.

2nd one anyone could argue it could have went either way, despite Canelo looking more impressive.

3rd one? I just dont see Canelo losing. He's grown and his slickness would make GGG miss all night, only a surprise KO can give GGG a chance.

I used to like GGG but I've been a Canelo fan sense Canelo was 19-20 years old.
I thought GGG was decent and he is a very good fighter but I watched Canelo out class him and both fights regardless what the critic's think. He beat him defensively in the first and offensively in the 2nd.
Canelo has been fighting nothing but Champions or champion level fighters for years though and GGG is and has been fighting nobodies for the most part!
I don't think GGG deserves a 3rd fight right now. I think he should fight Andrade and the winner can fight Canelo in December! Not impressed at all with a win over a nobody that no one has truly even heard of! GGG at worst should have fault Charlo! GGG is only looking at money and I have no use for that or his bum picks.
I used to think there was nobody for GGG to fight but it appears the only fights that he picks on average is no bodies. ��
