Because Canelo is a damn good counter puncher. He didn't want the return fire I'm guessing. But he needs to do it in the 3rd fight.

He thought he is going to get a decision, so was happy not to take much risk. I think he knows better now and that he will risk more.

I still think if he puts high pressure on Canelo, the wheels will come of - sure he would need to take a lot of punishment in the process, but it would be worth it.

Ggg look a bit slower and still very hittable but he still ko Rolls within the first half of the fight and it was a pretty good ko.

Do you have a counting problem? He got his KO in 4 rounds not 5 rounds. He was a bit rusty in the first two rounds and looked fine in rounds 3 and 4. Bring on Canelo on September 14th.

ggg always get hit. he looked better than he did vs vanes. faster.

obviously we'll have to wait and see if he really did improve under banks until he fights a credible opponent. bring on canelo 3, andrade, jacobs 2. in that order.

id add charlo to that list too, but hes comortable staying with pbc and yapping on twitter knowing nothing will come out of it.

I thought GGG looked lighter on his feet and is trying to be a bit different, but he is still adjusting to suit whatever style banks thought him, so I was expecting him to get hit. He may want to get a few rounds in before KO'ing rolls.

His speed is what it is. He never was the fastest fighter. However, I am very glad to see he returned to body punches. I will never understand why he didn’t use it against Canelo.

No disrespect to you but most of the time in a fight when you see a particular guy not go to his trade mark/staple is because the other guy is doing something to counter that.

Which fight were you watching? He looked lean, quick and aggressive. He did what he was supposed to do. Not sure what you were expecting.

I wasn't expecting anything, myself. But I wanted to see something new, anything. But especially not eating hard punches, which he continues to do.

There's levels to this. It only took GGG 2 rounds to figure Rolls out. Rolls actually seemed like a decent fighter but he has poor accuracy. GGG looked good to me and methodical. I think he was trying to practice some things Banks taught him.
