Hey man this may be none of my business, but just today I asked someone about their "Likes" (to me they are basically thumbs up or down) being in the Red. I see people with a ton of points who seem to post sound opinions and are relatively respectful, with no "Green".
Do they go up or down according to if you click "I approve" or "Disapprove" ?
Is the only way to lose them if a Moderator adjusts ?

I'm an "Admin" on a totally different type of forum, and it would seem to me that a Moderator would actually be there to prevent things like losing your "Likes".
Different sites may have different rules, but we intervene for things like harassment, gratuitous profanity and obscenity, spamming, false impersonation, and other stuff. We contact members and give warnings before a "ban".
Are you contacted as to an infraction or given a warning ?
Are you sure other users can't effect your "Green" ? I suppose though if you had 70+, that had to be a mod or admin. You think you have an idea why ? Like just having opposing opinions ? Seems like it would have to be something more serious than that. Obnoxious behavior is also sometimes frowned upon.

Anyhow, sorry for all the questions but I've been a lil curious about this. I really haven't been around this forum all that long, and I'm seeing you can put "points in the bank" and buy other features or something, it looks like.
And on the surface, it doesn't appear to be fair to just remove points or whatever, without a clear delineation of how all that is handled. I dunno. At the end of the day I suppose it's relatively unimportant on the grand scale of things. I'm just curious.

it first came to light about 6-7 years ago, during the Pacquiao days

MANY accounts suddenly disappeared overnight, ALL of them were Mayweather fans LMAO

not saying it is the same guy..... it could be that the appointing standards are not very high

the rep matters not..... because as you mentioned, some of the best posters are in the red, and some of the worst are green.....

posters also use "karma threads" to artificially raise/manipulate rep.....

it is essentially a popularity contest..... with many posters not caring about being popular, and being far too real for some of the pansies who browse these threads

the principle is the issue..... as well as the extent of butthurt a supposed "responsible" person can endure before he blows a gasket and lowers himself

people cry about Canelo, but the fact is..... Golovkin was a supposed killer, and yet he could not get a clean win over Canelo despite having two attempts..... and he clearly lost the rematch

that, and the fact that Golovkin obviously has no intention of ever fighting a top opponent not-named Canelo..... mean that Charlo and Andrade are more deserving

we know that Golovkin is (at best) just above Jacobs, and just below Canelo..... and yet I think that Jacobs would beat Golovkin in a rematch, and I think that Canelo is a level above Golovkin, at least in terms of skill/defence/ringIQ.....

the point being..... Golovkin is not #1 at middleweight, Canelo is..... we know that..... so, it is aboutfkntime we found out where those other guys stand..... and like I said, if Golovkin is not willing to assist with divisional clarity, and Canelo is..... then so be it

Golovkin had an opportunity to fight Charlo in a eliminator, but they said they fight made no sense..... and Andrade is the obvious shortcut to Canelo, but they showed no interest in him either

Ggg should take a more active roll in trying to take out the division before canelo does. We already know he can't take it from canelo directly at the moment so... the way I see it is.....

FACT #1: there are PLENTY of unanswered questions at middleweight

Canelo is #1..... everyone can argue about the rest of the division..... comparing resume's, titles, and performing other such exercises that will not answer any of those unanswered questions..... but as always, those fights need to happen

it is the only way..... even for the #1 Canelo, who will have plenty of fun with Charlo/Andrade

the problem is.....

FACT #2: Golovkin simply will not put himself in harm's way to participate in those fights..... he passed on Charlo and Andrade, two sure-fire shortcuts to Canelo..... and before that he passed on Saunders and Derevyanchenko

FACT#1 + FACT#2 = Golovkin is not really relevant at middleweight at present, as he will not contribute to divisional clarity..... he just wants another payday from Canelo

I honestly believe DAZN are plssing money away with Golovkin, as he will never participate in a top fight without Canelo

It would be funny if GGG walks through rolls punches like how he did lesser opponents. If that is the case, he is not implementing what he has learned and is not going to improve much. This fight will be very telling if he is implementing what he learned or sticking to his old antics, which is not going to help him in a canelo 3 fight.

I've never really understood why people get offended over opposing opinions. Ideally, we should be able to disagree with some measure of dignity, civility, and respect. It's not like we are criticizing each other's Mama or family.
There's being passionate, then there's, "too emotionally invested". Heck, for $10 bucks and a steak dinner, I'll cosign whatever boxing opinion ya want. It ain't that heavy.
