I think the added weight will greatly help Cotto. Everyone agree's that he was hurting himself at 140lbs his last few fights. Look at Pacman when he was KO'd he immediately went up in weight for his next fight and did much better and Pac has proven he can take a good punch.

I believe Cotto will look more like the Cotto of 3 years ago with better movement (not look like such a plodder) more fluid combinations and even take a better punch. However I'm not sure if his power will be as destructive as it was at 140lbs but all these questions will be answered once he fight a good welterweight.

I also dont see the Shane Mosley that fought Vargas beating Cotto. Shane didn't have the movement he had when he was younger, Shane was fairly flat footed. Also News Flash, Mosely was never that great a boxer, but people still say he is a great boxer. Mosely was actually a great flurry puncher who would do a Holyfield and through a flurry, keep his distance and flurry again, Mosley was never a great boxer or counter puncher but he had good hand speed and put together incredible combos when he flurried.

I would call this a late stoppage by Cotto.

Cotto will taste his first loss if this fight ever happens.

Don't skip the fact that Cotto is the moving up fighter while Mosley have fought in the higher weight class.

It's going to be an exciting battle but in the end, Mosley will get the victory.

Let's see how Cotto performs at 47 before we start making predictions. As it stands, with Cotto never testing 147, I'd have to favor Mosley as the bigger guy. He's been in there with some hard punchers (Forrest, DLH, and Vargas) and has gone 12 every time. I don't think Cotto can hurt him.

You can't possibly be defending JLC against Corrales. I don't think that at the proper weight JLC could have beaten Chico. Whether it is a difference in skill or simply weight drain, making weight is an integral part of boxing especially at lower weights. And Corrales is simply planning his career intelligently. Why would he want to fight Casamayor for a 3rd time? It won't gain him any respect and it is a dangerous fight. He knows that he has options at 135 or 140 so why box himself into a difficult fight for not that much money?

Cotto doesnt have the right skills to beat Mosley. Forrest and Winky were excellent ring technicians that had great jabs and chins *yes Forrest has a good chin, Mayorga has a rocket right hand*. They were able to turn Mosley with their jab and press him to the ropes. Cotto doesnt have the ring skills to be able to properly handle Mosley, also there is major concern about Cotto's chin.

                Mosley by KO before 9

I'm dont agree with that statement at this point.. Varga's was steadily on his way down and almost everyone could see that..

I think a big factor in this fight is also "when" it would supposedly happen.. and i agree with Left2body's comments about how Cotto's finally moving up would only help him as opposed to hurt him.. idk, it'd be too close to call for me right now

vargas has become stiff, tired, timid, and an old 28

cotto is none of the above man

                    this fight could be sweet

and imo it could go either way

cotto could break mosely's34 yr old body down with the hooks

sugar shane may cofuse him on the ouside, set traps and flurry explosively

                    great fight

not wanting to get into the e-fight

but it was kinda odd how corrales responded to brian kenney's questions about another fight with casamayor

casa has slowed down even though he was more aggressive in theat fight on ESPN
