While I do think it's important to take stands against real social injustice, and to recognize bona-fide corruption when it happens, I don't think "boxing matchups" qualifies as a legitimate social injustice, to launch "smear campaigns" against. It's more along the lines of, "I wanted to like your product. Your product is not worth the money to me anymore, so I'm not going to buy it anymore". End of story.
The complainers don't have an actual game plan or "end goal" in mind, like organizing a boycott or letter writing campaigns. The "injustice" thing is really just an excuse to complain. It's more likely that they just like to beetch and sound superior. NO boxing promoter is reading or listening to this forum.

That said, as long as they are not crossing any harassment, oppression, or obscenity lines, I suppose they are free to complain as much as they like. All we can do is avoid those discussions or tune out. I've learned I can't change or control people, and they have the right to complain.
Of course you have every right to complain about complaining, or advise them to "get over it". I'm just sharing that I did that, and I got an "earful" about how the paying fans are being conned, ripped off, and all that. The justification is, if they don't complain on NSB, it will keep happening and nothing will change.
But I get it, we don't always get the fights we want, and the fans are smart.

Peace.
