I would say his chin is above average. He withstood a lot of punishment aganist Tito/DLH that weakned his ability to take a punch and slowed his reactions. But to say that Trinidad knocking you down is the mark of a glass jaw or below average jaw is ridiculous. Plus Vargas' always come forward style leaves him more suceptible to big punches than other fighters. I wouldn't say his chin is great though as I think that his ability to continue was often more heart than chin.

which just goes to show that Vargas's chin is solid. It's not the same chin as before thanks to Tito but it's still solid. Everyone has to remember his back problems have a lot to do with why he gets wobbled. He always gets up. He's never failed to make the count.

What does your back have to do with a punch disrupting oxygen levels in your brain (which causes a knock down / out)

If your back was 100% and you took a flush shot to the chin wouldnt you take it better ? YOur legs would be stronger too which is why Vargas is more flat footed than he was before.
the guy's got a ruptured lower disc problem which causes tremendous pain which also causes leg weakness. I'm just saying a healthy back would help in absorbing punches. Think of the body shots too, not just the head shots.

He has a pretty ****ty chin, but look at how far he managed to go with it. Corrales is doing the same thing with a below average chin.

funny because i always figured Corrales to have a granite chin. He always bragged after his fights how he had never been floord until the Mayweather fight. After the Mayweather fight his chin seemed to get worse?
