Its not Thunder that you hear, its Heart!

I would like to see Arturo Gatti make it into the hall of Fame one day. Any common civilian who has ever seen Gatti fight has probably witnessed Gatti coming from behind, with one eye hanging out of its socket, to win a dramatic bout. The guy is known outside of the bixng circles for fighting with everything that he has under what ever circumstances he may find himself in.

People tend to rip on Gatti abit because he resorted to free wheeling tactics that produced wars. The guy can box, very well. At a national my coach told me to watch this kid, he pointed to the ring where Gatti was entering and we sat and watched him. He has an amatuer background with good boxing skills. He just knows that people love to pay to money to watch a bloody war.

Gattis over all skills alone would not warrant a trip to Conastoga, but fights are not won on skill alone. There is this ingredient called heart. Without it, you will do little. But with it you will carry yourself so much further as Gatti did. So many fighters would have called it quits in situations that Gatti would then just be beginning to fight. Thats heart man! And there is no greater heart than the one that beat inside of Arturo Gattis chest every time that he ever stepped into the ring. A heart that belongs, at some time, stepping into the hall.

there are three kinds of fighters who are in the HOF: those who earned it, those who deserve it, and those who are worthy of remeberance.

gatti hasnt beaten any elite fighters, so the **** what. ali is the best guy that frazier faced, and he only beat him once. likewise with ken norton.

gatti deserves it. you dont show that much heart and that much courage without going unnoticed in a historical perspective. i know not every1 in the future will know who arturo gatti is/was. but boxing fans will.

gatti is, if anything else, worthy of remeberance. leave beating the top fighters to other top fighters. you dont need to beat top fighters to be rememberd.

gatti will not be ignored. a 2(soon to be 3) time/division world champ with 4 FOTYs and a heart that is bigger than himself is not the kind of guy to be ignored by history.

Gatti has done more for boxing than most recent HOFers. Ask the average Joe who Roy Jones or Floyd Mayweather is and they will look at you puzzeled, ask who Arturro Gatti or Oscar De La Hoya are and they will tell you boxers.
