Story was on the front page of every newspaper in the world. It was the top story in the USA. I remember them showing newspapers from all over the world with Tyson on his knees with the mouthguard hanging out.
It was a monumental upset. People who claim Ruiz beating Joshua is bigger don't understand how Tyson was perceived back then. He was generally thought of as unbeatable by the available HWs of the day and was a lock to be an ATG maybe the greatest. It was inconceivable to think Douglas was going to do anything but lose and lose spectacular. He was a considered a decent journeyman type fighter who had good skills but was inconsistent and wouldn't be able to handle the Tyson onslaught. Joshua has never had the Tyson aura, it's hard to relate to people who weren't there how huge it was.

Tyson went out on his shield.
Ruiz Broke joshua down mentally and hardly broke a sweat doing it.
It's not even remotely compareable. Tyson went down fighting. Joshua embarassed himself.

Leading to the fight of course.
When you heard all the stories years later its just amazing. If you weren't around it's hard to imagine a dude who just did sh-t like him. With no internet it was all word of mouth.

You right, it's not remotely comparable but not in the way you think. Joshua has never been perceived the way Tyson was. Joshua had been down against Wlad and shaken in several other fights. Mike was destroying everyone he fought with no issue. Your welcome to your opinion though even if it is wrong.
