Great article, however Tyson was already a global brand. Granted he hadn’t traveled to some far away place up until that time but the fact remains he was a global brand. If you noticed the throngs of Japanese fans (in the thousands) swarming him when he walked around it was quite different than AJ.

AJ brought fans with him from the UK while Tyson already had fans globally.

Another huge upset Michael Bentt over Tommy Morrison.

Morrison beat Gerorge Foreman for the WBO Belt.

Morrison and Lennox Lewis were suppose to split $16 million until he lost to the unknown Bentt.

Who in turn lost the belt his VERY next fight and never boxed again.

Idk about Pac - Marquez. Marquez was always competitive with Pac. The KO itself was pretty shocking though and Marquez did appear to be losing the fight up to that point. Pac was at the top of his game at the time.

Still, out of everything on the list, Marquez - Pac seems to be the least shocking of an upset.

This was my thought as well. It was definitely a surprise but given how the previous fights were there was little to suggest it was going to be a routine victory for Pacquiao up until the opening bell. He was still a fighter with HOF credentials who clearly still had juice in the tank.
