I'm with you on this. I don't think Ruiz is being given enough credit. He went into that fight not content to just be an opponent. He was dropped hard and got back up with clear eyes and fired back when AJ tried to finish him off.

He threw fast counters and threw in combinations that you rarely see in HW division. He has decent power but the real danger is in the speed and the fact that it's multiple punches thrown.

I also agree that Fury and Usyk would be difficult matchups stylistically for Ruiz.

That's 1 of the biggest points to make. Ruiz was dropped hard and for the first time in his career. I thought he was done with by the way he went down with his arm chicken winged behind his back. BUT he took his count, cleared the cobwebs and then threw down. We've seen how others reacted to Joshuas power so that in itself says a lot. Povetkin was highly rated on these boards and got pulverized by AJ after a few successful moments.

Before your god was exposed like the weak hearted b i t ch he is, the top Heavyweight was Fury with Wilder and Joshua competing for 2 and 3 while Ortiz was the solid #4. Now the new top 4 are Fury, Wilder, Ruiz, and Ortiz. All of which would embarrass your weak hearted god.

Has to be said, this is exactly the right way to handle it. The greats all took devastating losses and bounced back, so anyone who wants Joshua to fail – now that he's tasted defeat, and perhaps deservedly so – is not a fan of HW boxing, or the sport as a whole.

Fuck it, now I'm kinda hoping for Wilder and Fury to lose their 0s embarrassingly as well. It'd be a wakeup slap to them and their promoters for this greedy marinating bullshit.

You have to respect his accountability. He has the right attitude to make a comeback. I almost hope he could fix his problems and avenge the loss, but I'm very much Team Ruiz Jr.

Joshua is a good fighter that will probably get much better (especially if he loses 'some' of that robot producing muscle, imo). But my question has always been, "how would he deal with Wilder, or any other good 'taller fast twitch accurate' puncher that comes to bring it - how would he 'defend' against that, or even attack against that?" Tarver "timed" a much much faster (most likely accidentally) depleted Roy, that came down in weight for their match. Can the slower ROBOTIC Joshua "time" a capable PRIME Wilder?? I don't believe so at all...

The good thing throughout Joshuas career was, he seemed disciplined in habitually fighting "tall" (a Manny Steward philosophy), thankfully doing so, without giving the loyal UK fans a Wladimir type librarian hugfest that brought on deep sleep....Unfortunately Joshua didn't stick to that discipline for the "shorter" Ruiz, answering a basic question for us Americans (at least me anyways)...His choice of crouching was probably due to his "American debut" nerves - he DID NOT crouch the entire fight though - but its what probably cost him the fight.....He's got some reorganizational "proving" to do...

Well said, and its kinda hard for me to admit: but they're all getting "greedy." Greedy Hearn set the trend in motion though, without anybody else in mind except him, his dad, his robot and his dynasty. Doesnt mean the other guys had to follow suit, but you know as well as I do what easy money can do to a person. All three can knock me out for 3mil..lol..Theres some seriousness in that statement too..lol..

Wilder seemed to be the ONLY ONE willing to test himself under this cash flow greed...and it was his energetic 'take command' attitude convincing these guys it's more than just about money....Nevertheless, I remember a GREAT quote, 1 Timothy 6:10, "For the LOVE of money is the root of all kinds of EVIL"...Wilders caught the 'money' bug too, although against much better opposition....All these guys want excess cash flow and its why theyre not fighting each other....

Ruiz is a beast!

In the 7th Joshua actually caught him with a monsterous hook and he immediately responded with like a 5 punch combination that put AJ down.

If AJ was a prospect with no belts then this rematch wouldn’t be immediate but Hearn, matchroom and AJ can’t afford to let the belts slip away so they have to go for it.

But the problems AJ needs to fix don’t usually get corrected in 6 or so months.

Quite agree. Andy knows he has the hand speed advantage now - he just waits for AJ to throw (and miss) then boom! unleash those combos. Hearn should be very nervous about the rematch.
