I think he should skip the rematch, and go back to the basic learning of the fundamentals. They rushed his career too much. This loss was a blessing in disguise for him.

You could tell he has never experienced what happened to him on that day before, compare that to Ruiz who also was visibly hurt in the KD but knew what to do thereafter. When you have a limited amateur pedigree like Joshua had then the usual route should be the Wilder route.

    Protect him from himself.
If he doesn’t take the rematch, I doubt he’ll ever be able to get those belts back in the next 3years. Those belts will end up with Fury or Wilder.

I believe he can beat Ruiz if he’s 100% and can replicate what he did against Parker. He wanted to go in there and knock him out early despite not being fit and it backfired. Same thing happened when he decided to **** toe to toe with Wlad.

He needs to get those belts back and keep the IBF and WBA (and IBO). But vacate the WBO because I don’t think he can beat Usyk and start fighting 3 times a year against people tailormade for him until he gets there.

He’s gotta do what’s best for him first , then his family and lastly his career
While I’m saying this though , this doesn’t mean that he’s fixed , far from it , it’ll be an every day fight until he feels he’s ready
Imo , I think he’s a very damaged man at the moment
I hope for his sake he can come back stronger
Maybe everyday life but I doubt boxing wise
At fights end he looked relieved that this circus was over
His body language said it all

Get in there with Sugar Hill and build it back up slowly. But before that, he needs to run it back and get the belts off Ruiz.

If he can beat Ruiz in the rematch, he shouldn’t have a problem beating Pulev. Then he can start fighting 3 times a year. But I’d suggest he takes the WBA mandatory with Charr or Trevor Bryan before anyone from the WBO.
      ... I see. I see... (and I can't argue with you...)

... but why don't email AJ your advice?... I once tried this (with another fighter, of course)... with absolutely no result whatsoever...

I don't think it's so much that he did it too quickly but he had too much of an easy ride to the top. Up until he won the title against Klitschko the only fight he had where he had to take any real heat was against Whyte. He got his first belt in the form of an absolute gift against Charles Martin, who himself only really won the title to begin with via dumb luck, and then he got the faded, already beaten version of Klitschko to win two more. Don't get me wrong, Klitschko is still a formidable opponent even in the twilight of his career, and beating him was probably Joshua's best achievement, but a fight against someone coming off a loss and over a year layoff at the back end of his career shouldn't be the kind of fight where you end up winning multiple belts. Pretty much every fight since then he's struggled somehow or hasn't looked great, including the one where he nabbed one more belt off of Joseph Parker. He ended up in this weird place where he's a 4-belt unified champion and you could potentially say that he's still a work in progress or hasn't really been tested. I think you could also make the point that he rose to prominence at a stage when the division was still fairly poor, with things only really getting good again and competition flaring up after he "peaked."

I don't know, man -- it never is that simple...

... From where I look at it, AJ is done... (taking into account all his "history"... OK, he might somehow "bounce back", but overall he's done!!! He lost too many steps...)

I think he’s done as well. But he needs to run that **** back and go out like a warrior.

He has made enough money, time to move on.
