Not to make excuses about the Ruiz fight, but I noticed AJ started fighting twice a year from his 17th fight and considering he had just over 40 amateur fights I don’t think this has helped his development. Some big fighters didn’t start fighting twice a year until 30/40 fights in.
He has major flaws and I feel like his boxing has taken a hit with all his commercial duties. I feel like he has to be more active it should be fighting 3 times a year at this point.
