After kovalev vs Alvarez,most people thought that he was done. Alvarez dropped kova multiple times,and stopped him in a devastating manner. Many people thought that Alvarez was going to stop kova in the rematch even sooner,but kova had different plans. He got a new trainer,one that helped deal with his stamina issues,made him into more of a boxer,and he regained his belt with a great performance. Can Joshua do he same? Can he get a trainer that will help him fight tall,use the jab,help him trim down a bit,and not gas by rounds 3-5?

Yes, boxing is unique in that athletes are written off after a bad loss. AJ can come back from this. -
Yeah I think so. His stamina and defense were a bigger problem for him more so than his chin imo although that also is very shaky as well.
Kovalev and Klitschko both suffered bad ko defeats but came back with new folds in their gameplans to find renewed success. If aj can tighten up his defense and fight a more patient/measured fight he can bounce back from this like they did. Not much he can do about his chin but he can work on conserving stamina and taking less flush punches.Comment

Absolutely, people forget he was tagging Ruiz pretty cleanly with the left hook. Fix whatever mental block he had yesterday and use his jab and distance and he will rightly be the favorite in the rematch.Comment

Kovalev had shown some very good boxing skills in the past. He was a very underrated boxer at his best that was overlooked because of his power, but he was clever and measured. Let’s not forget most thought he outboxed Ward in the first fight.
What has AJ shown really that he can really do differently or learn in the next few months? He isn’t a natural boxer per se. It’s taken 10 years to hone a very basic style, he isn’t going to be much better in 6 months. All he can do is fight the same but get to Ruiz before Ruiz gets to him, which is what everyone expected him to do last night. That’s how he wins the rematch if he does.
For Kovalev it was going back to things he neglected. AJ is what he is.Comment

Kovolev lost to the #1 contender and a guy everyone avoided in the division not to mention the most built dude at 175 not the fattest.Comment

Absolutely not, Ruiz has his number!
Ruiz is used to fighting bigger men his whole life and knows what to expect when it comes to guys like AJ who relies on his reach and a jab and right hand!
Ruiz is coming with a fighters mentality unlike AJ and now he has the confidence to know that he can hurt AJ and also box AJ!
AJ has to change his mindset first, this okey dokey mindset of being cliche and accepting of this loss isn’t good!
Guys like Lennox Lewis, Holyfield, Pacquiao, Floyd, Hagler and Wilder and others if they’d loss like this would be pissed off and sounding off that there will be Changes and that Ruiz woke up a sleeping giant and will get beat like a drum!
AJ was very lackadaisical and too relaxed about the way he lost!
