Joshua didn't quit, his legs quit. You could see at the end he tried moving off the ropes and his legs were too wobbly to support any claim to the referee that he could continue, so he went back to the ropes and the ref made the right call as a result.

Man.. I cannot remember a boxer whose legs would be so quick to betray him after a punch. Looking back at his fights, every time he was caught with a decent punch, his legs would wobble really bad and take a few rounds to recover. Either way, Joshua looked gassed after 1 round.
