  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Would Love To Say Stoppage Was Early, But Fight Was Done

NEW YORK Eddie Hearn had no problem with referee Michael Griffin stopping Anthony Joshua's heavyweight championship reign when he did. Joshua's promoter admitted after Joshua's upset loss to Andy Ruiz that his previously undefeated fighter had nothing left when Griffin waved an end to their unbelievable battle at 1:27 of the seventh round Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. Joshua got up from each of the four knockdowns Ruiz scored and responded, "Yes," when Griffin asked him if he wanted to continue following that final knockdown.

When your promoter is saying this, that says A LOT. I really think Hearn has lost some confidence in him. Maybe the rematch won't happen, look for a AJ/Fury fight and call it a day. Those are some very interesting comments. 100% correct and accurate though. AJ had no idea what he got himself into.

Joshua's body language during this fight was weird AF. He kept looking towards his corner to bail him out each time he got hurt, tried to quit by spitting out his mouthpiece, then a totally unconvincing fake protest after the ref waved it off. Not to mention all the fake smiling afterwards and acting all nonchalant after a devasting loss and then trying to hijack Ruiz's interview. What an odd duck.

Eddie has to be nervous about the rematch. If AJ loses again, that's one of the main pillars of his empire gone to dust. If Canelo were to get a serious injury, DAZN is in soapy bubble.

I have close sources to team Joshua so let me fill u guys in on Wat's really going on.joshua knew he had a rematch clause even know he pretended he didn't know.ive been told by my peeps in the UK that team Joshua took a dive simply because after the Ruiz fight Joshua has no one else decent left to box so what better way to kill time by doing a rematch.deontay is booked Tyson will be booked so yea there's the truth guys Ruiz is just a fill in not a threat to the top hw in any type of way.
