How Does Anthony Joshua Win In The Rematch Against Ruiz?

I think the obvious plan to victory is sharpening up his jab and throwing that thing 30 times a round with an occasional over hand or straight right. Mix in a couple of check left hooks but absolutely stay away from throwing the uppercut. If Ruiz gets to close tie him up Wlad style. He can easily cruise to a UD, he doesn't need to make a statement, just get his belts back and more importantly his confidence.

I don't see how he can. He needs a trainer to refine his skills but it's late in the game now.

The Jab, his reach was out of control and doesn't use the jab effectively. Also keep your damn hands up. Followed by really shedding some of that mass and work on his cardio. Really hope his trainer will recognize this or Hearn, otherwise hire him a Virgil Hunter type who will hold him accountable.

first he needs to come in at 240 ish. then he needs to stick and move and totally refuse to engager for at least 7-8 rounds, then go for the KO of a tired Ruiz.

Easier said than done though. Time will tell if he has the skills to pull that off.

He needs to turn into prime Wlad or last night will be the first of many KO losses before he retires. But as simple as it seems to jab and grab, it’s really difficult.

Last night made me appreciate how Wlad after those losses to Brewster et al really learnt how to dominate shorter guys from a distance. There is real skill in that, Wlad of say... 2010 or 2011 would have never let someone like Ruiz get close and get off like that, he would have pummelled him with the jab from distance. I almost miss the big guy.

                Double jabs.

                Double jabs and right hands.

His jabs and 1 2's were being timed.

He should have also employed lennox lewis style clinching and leaning on his opponent to tire him.

                He did none.

It was very obvious to see from the way anthony moved and kept moving/circling that he wanted to keep it at a certain distance. He just didnt want to engage at all last night.

He needs to be busier too.

He just wasnt switched on ladt night

I think he had a sexual marathon the night before. He looked docile and shagged out. Tired and uninterested in boxing.

His footwork showed that he didnt want to engage. He was buying time circling and hoping to not get into a scrap.

                He was definately shagged out

So much wrong with the performance its hard to know where to start. He became a little left hook happy after his early success and his feet were a lot slower than normal which took his right hand out of range. No doubt he had no sharpness at all which can only be down to preparation. He needs to get focused back on boxing instead of being a global superstar. One thing I do know for certain after last night is that if he tastes a right hand from wilder its game over. I am not saying he couldn't get to Wilder first but that is his only chance.

I agree with this approach. I would hope AJ can muster up a better tactic than grappling whenever Ruiz gets close though. Some body shots and turning Ruiz in addition to grabbing when needed would go a long way in keeping the fight entertaining and deflating Andy's endurance.

He should also be able to time Ruiz coming in and land hard shots, but if Andy can close the distance consistently without getting stopped AJs poor stamina will inevitably become a liability once again. It's the reason why I was okay with him facing Miller. Provided Miller didn't get blown away early, he had the potential to push AJ to the limit.

I think the rematch would be very interesting, I'm honestly still in slight disbelief that this upset actually happened.
